My plant based lifestyle

Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.

Hello my beautiful friends!! It's been so long since I've felt inspired to write again. My life has changed so much recently & thankfully only for the better. I have found it hard to share my new journey only because more than anything I respect each and every one of you & the decision you guys make. By sharing my journey & thoughts I hope that you always remember I come from a place of love & only sharing my journey with you.

I have written this many times during the last 6 months & can't bring myself to find the right words, in ways that makes it easier to understand. I realized its a sensitive topic & I understand that but it's part of who I'm now & if you love to keep reading I would appreciate it but if you don't I understand it.

I feel like I've always been exposed to vegetarian food, vegan foods and meat alternatives. My older sister Vero & her family are vegan. I have other family members who were vegetarian. My mom has always cooked meat replacements and it's been a while that I was only drinking almond milk. Still I never really questioned them why they would do it?  it didn't bother me either it was just never something I considered doing . I loved meat! RED meat, steaks, burgers, tacos ! I said " I could never stop eating meat" so many times. Until I did.

It was on Sunday July 9, 2017! Our Sunday started with picking up Machaca burritos from a local restaurant & coffee. We enjoyed our burritos at home & watching Netflix. We ran out of things to watch & we ended up watching " What the Health" I have no idea why I decided to click on it, I hadn't heard about it. Just looked interesting.

I watched, I cried & I decided to stop eating meat. That machaca burrito was the last time I ate meat.

Now here's the thing obviously this documentary is controversial & so many people think its really bias. I didn't stop there I went out of my way to find YouTube videos, to find other documentaries & any information that would help me. What I got from the documentary & the reason why I decided to stop eating meat was just the fact that I was eating animals. I love animals my puppies are my babies!!! I realized that day that in my heart all animals were the same & worthy of living. I've heard people tell me that I'm one person & it won't make a difference. The thing is it makes all the difference to know I'm not participating in this. I'm out! I will not be part of it!

Animals mean so much to me, and I see no difference between a pig, cow or my Franchesca & SOSO ( puppies) . I'm not here to tell you or anyone what to do or what to eat. I just want to share why I'm doing this. I've been asked often If I don't miss meat? NO I do not miss eating animals. & I'm so sorry that I did eat it for so long.

There is many ways to cut down on animal products
1. Meatless Mondays are a great idea
2. Eating vegan for breakfast.
3. Eating vegan until dinner.
4. switching from cow's milk to almond milk or soy milk
5. going Plant based

The benefits are amazing!! For your health, for the animals & environment.

I'm planning on going back to doing what I eat Wednesdays but felt the need to share first the reasons of why I eat the way I eat.

I'm grateful for my husband, family & friends for helping me to make this transition so easy. I love to know that I have a family who supports me and loves me just the way I'm for accepting my new ways of eating & always making an effort.

I've had to learn it all at once. That Sunday I had already gone to pick up groceries for the week, so I went back to the store to find other options for me to eat. I had no idea how to cook the tofu or what I should be eating. It's all been so fun to learn and as time passes by I surprise myself of how good it can be to eat vegan & how happy it makes me to eat this way.

I'm truly happy & thankful that I've changed my lifestyle for the better, no way am I perfect but I make an effort everyday.

Thank you for reading up to hear & ask away if you have any questions!

7 healthy changes you can start making TODAY!

Hello my beautiful friends!!! Healthy can have different meanings to different people. I would love to share what it means to me & the goals that I have in mind for my fitness journey. I strive for a healthy balance on a daily basis, which means to me eating healthy foods & whole foods about 80% of the time & having pizza & a donut on some other days. I love food, and I feel like I'm still in my journey to having a better relationship with food. I have a huge appetite like really I could eat a torta & a burrito and will still ask what's for dessert? this is the reason why I choose to eat bigger portions of healthier & whole foods. Allowing me to treat myself gives me the choice to have some of the foods that I love with moderation. So here are 7 tips that I apply to my life for  a healthier lifestyle, easy things you can start today. I'm still on my journey to finding balance & learning as I go. 1. Make your...

My 18 day fix journey & starting it all over again!

Hello my beautiful friends!   Welcome back to my blog, so today would have marked my 21 days, however there was big bumps on the road and I totally failed by day 18.   I want to start off by sharing that my second week was the best week ever. I did every workout & followed my diet exactly how I should have. I was feeling great and I was actually 5lbs down!!!   Here's everything that went wrong for me the third week   1. I had more than 4 ounces of wine.   2. I some how started adding some popcorn into my diet.   3. On Monday I had a huge cramp on my leg in the morning, so I skipped the morning workout.   4. thinking about doing the double workout made me start to avoid my workouts   5. My cramp on my calf left me with so much pain it made it impossible to do anything but yoga & Pilates.   6. I started to feel unmotivated due to not being able to workout on DOUBLE days.   7. Then I just wan...

What I ate Wednesday!

Welcome to What I ate Wednesday! Today I will be sharing what I ate throughout the day. Honestly I have not been eating as well and as healthy as I normally do. Today I wanted to start getting back on track and decided to document everything that I ate. Minus the snacks which honestly were not too interesting, just one apple & one granola bar.I hope you guys enjoy!     I need coffee to start my day!     Okay so most of us should know the best way to start our day would be with warm water & lemon, but what can I say I love coffee. Starting my day with a warm cup of coffee, dash of creamer & almond milk.     Breakfast, I'm usually on such a rush in the  morning so it helps out to throw whatever fruits I have available & take a smoothie to drink on the go. For today's smoothie I had tons of fruit available, I did 1 cup of almond milk & 1 cup of water, added strawberries & blueberries a banana...
